Yes, visitors can order delivery, but check four things first
Foreign tourists can use food-delivery services in Korea when the app supports their account, payment method and delivery address. Check language, phone requirements, final payment and a reachable handover point before placing an order. A hotel lobby is often easier to describe than an unfamiliar park entrance, but get the property’s permission first.
Do not rely on old advice that every Korean app requires a Korean identity-verified number. Services change. This guide compares current official descriptions from Shuttle and Baemin, then gives a practical ordering checklist. It does not claim that a test purchase was completed.

A data eSIM and a delivery contact are different things
A data-only eSIM can connect you to an app but does not automatically receive Korean SMS, provide a local voice number or pass Korean identity checks.
Shuttle’s developer listing, updated 20 October 2026 and checked on 23 October, separates email signup from verification for Shuttle credit. An optional phone field during signup does not prove that every promotion or checkout works without additional verification. Do not borrow a stranger’s number or enter a hotel employee’s number without permission. Keep the app and its support channel reachable through delivery.

Set the Korean address and handover point before choosing food
The delivery address determines which restaurants appear, so enter the exact building and map pin before browsing.
- Ask your accommodation whether outside food is allowed and where deliveries must be collected.
- Copy its Korean road-name address; compare the map pin with the actual entrance.
- Add the permitted lobby or entrance instructions. Include a room number only if the property’s process needs it.
- Check that you can receive app messages or contact support if the rider cannot find you.
- For a park, confirm an authorized delivery pickup point with park signage or staff. “Han River” is not a usable handover address.
Useful questions include “배달 음식은 어디에서 받아야 하나요?” (Where should I collect a food delivery?) and, if agreed with the property, “로비에서 받겠습니다.” (I will collect it in the lobby.) Choose food and read the final total
For a first delivery, choose a meal whose ingredients, portion and required utensils you can confirm before paying.

Review the food subtotal, delivery or service charges, minimum-order adjustments and final currency on the payment screen. No universal delivery fee, arrival time, discount or “same as eating in” price is promised here. If you have an allergy, an unchecked request box is not confirmation of ingredients or cross-contact controls; use the allergy checklist and ask the restaurant or support before ordering.
Confirm the order and stay available for handover
A card notification alone does not establish restaurant acceptance, so check the order number and status in the delivery service.
Keep the receipt and address details. If payment appears pending but there is no order, contact support before repeating the purchase. Can I order without a Korean number?
Shuttle’s official listing says email signup is available without one. Extra features may need verification. Check the current Baemin visitor checkout rather than assuming its domestic account process is the only option.
Does every foreign card work?
No guarantee applies to every card. Published support is not the same as authorization by your issuer; check the result and keep a backup.
Can I receive food in my hotel room?
Only if the property permits it. Confirm its collection process before ordering.
Can I order to a river picnic?
Only where the service accepts the address and you have a clear, permitted pickup location. Do not use a vague riverside pin.
What if no restaurants appear?
Recheck the address, service coverage and current opening status. Consider pickup or eating nearby rather than inventing another address.
